What kind of psychotherapy do I offer?
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is intended to improve your self-awareness of how you manage your life in ways that work against you and interfere with your satisfaction in relationships, work, and personal creativity. In order to be effective, meeting at least once weekly over several years is usually neccessary.

Psychoanalysis
Psychoanalytic treatment is also intended to improve your familiarity with your inner self. However, it is a more intensive treatment (3 to 5 times weekly) over an extended period of time and usually involves lying on a couch and facing away from the psychoanalyst. This allows you to redirect your attention to your internal world of thoughts, feelings, and sensations. By sharing these experiences in words, they become transformed into something that can be thought about with another person and taken back inside in a more understandable and usable form.
Psychoanalysis is particularly helpful for long standing depression and anxiety, certain types of personality disorders, and types of trauma which create attachment issues. It is also helpful for people who have developed self-protective ways of relating to others which make it difficult for them to have successful relationships.
